Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity for a customer service star to join our team at a financial company based in the Stratford as an Audio Visual Technician (AV Client Support Host).

Main Duties of the AV Client Support Host
  • First point of call for all AV related issues in the meeting rooms (MS Teams)
  • Setting up audio-visual equipment i.e. laptops in the Conference Suite, Training rooms & Boardroom within 15 minutes of the meeting start time.
  • Provision of Event and external AV assistance.
  • Setting up audio-visual equipment i.e. laptops in Conference Suite, Training Rooms and Boardrooms within fifteen minutes of the meeting start time
  • Reconfigure room layout as required within fifteen minutes of the meeting start time
  • Carry out regular checks of rooms throughout the day noting any faults on equipment, furniture, floor boxes, flickering lights etc. and liaising with appropriate departments to timely address such faults.
  • Making sure meeting room is ready for occupation with all chairs and table clean and tidy.
  • Carry out regular floor walks throughout the day to monitor room and equipment usage ensuring effective use of the facilities by the business.
  • Carry out an end of day floor walk returning all audio-visual equipment to secure storage.
  • To provide assistance and maintenance to the on‑floor LED screens within meeting rooms and on floor kitchen, atrium and staff restaurant areas.
  • Troubleshooting IT & equipment queries.
  • Working in partnership with various service providers where appropriate to help the changing needs of the business in relation to AV services and hospitality.
  • Ensuring our meeting rooms have functioning lighting and ventilation, and they are in good working condition.

As an AV Technician you will be reliable, flexible, and a strong ambassador for both Portico and our Client. You will have the chance to use your previous experience in a 5-star service environment to positively engage with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring they receive a seamless service experience. You will anticipate client needs, proactively following up to ensure that client expectations exceeded. Your problem‑solving skills and flexibility are key to ensure the smooth running of daily operations while your attention to detail will help you in preparing reports and making sure your surroundings are both presentable and safe.

Hours: 40 hours per week. Shifts between 8am and 5pm, Mon‑Fri.

Pay: £28,810 per year.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have immaculate personal presentation with a genuine smile and will easily engage in conversation, naturally developing rapport with others. They will be a proactive and professional team player with strong communication and technical skills. They should have proven experience in AV or event support within a corporate or conference environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and remain calm under pressure. Attention to detail and a customer‑focused approach are essential, along with the confidence to liaise with clients, presenters, and colleagues at all levels.

A solid understanding of AV systems, meeting room setups, and live event operations is required, as well as the flexibility to support events outside standard hours when necessary.

The candidate should be comfortable using communication tools such as radios, managing IPTV and digital content, and ensuring all conference spaces are maintained to a high operational standard.
