Audio Visual Engineer

Berkshire / Surrey based | UK wide travel

£30,000-£38,000 + vehicle + benefits

Are you an experienced AV Engineer who enjoys delivering reliable, well executed systems in real world environments?

We’re partnered with a well established UK Audio Visual integrator that has been operating for over 20 years, delivering high quality AV and technology solutions across the retail and corporate sectors. Their work ranges from large scale leisure and retail environments through to meeting rooms and video conferencing systems for private businesses.

This is a hands on engineering role offering long term stability, variety of projects, and the chance to grow with a respected AV business.

The role

Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an AV Install Engineer to their delivery team. Based from their office and covering projects nationwide, you’ll be responsible for installing, commissioning, and supporting a wide range of AV systems, working directly with clients and internal teams to ensure a smooth delivery.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Installing, configuring, and testing AV systems including displays, projectors, digital signage, control systems, and video conferencing solutions.
  • Carrying out pre installation site surveys to assess cabling, layout, and system requirements.
  • Commissioning systems to a high standard, ensuring reliability and ease of use.
  • Providing client training and clear handover documentation.
  • Responding to service calls and technical faults both on site and remotely.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance visits as required.
  • Working closely with sales, project management, and support teams throughout delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records of installs, service visits, and equipment used.
  • Keeping up to date with AV technology and product developments.
  • Working in line with health and safety and company quality standards.
What they’re looking for:
  • 2 to 3 years experience in AV installation, field engineering, or technical support.
  • Good understanding of AV systems including projectors, flat panel displays, matrix switching, PA systems, and structured cabling.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Confident, professional communication with clients on site.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a small project team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and stay overnight when required.
Desirable experience:
  • Electrical or data cabling certifications such as City and Guilds or Network Plus.
  • IPAF, PASMA, or ECS cards.
  • Experience working in education or public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset management tools, or CRM platforms.
