A leading manufacturer of wood panel products in Chirk is seeking an Automation Technician to assist with electrical maintenance and lead a maintenance group. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, strong skills in Allen-Bradley/SIemens PLCs, and the ability to teach effectively. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong competency in Allen-Bradley/SIemens PLCs and communication protocols.
  • Experience in teaching others in person or via tele-conference.

Job description

The purpose of the Automation Tech's position is to assist in all aspects of electrical maintenance, installation, testing, and improvements & modifications of production and support equipment. The position also assists in leading the electrical maintenance group to maximize production capabilities through minimizing downtime.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or similar field of study OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to teach others both in person and via tele-conference
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of competency in the use / understanding of Allen-Bradley and / or Siemens PLCs and communication protocols; knowledge of visualization (ex. Wonderware, PanelView, etc.)

Preferred candidates have experience in wood panel processing.

This is an on-call, 24 / 7 position.
