GSL Education is seeking a passionate Autism Support Assistant to join a special school in Waltham Forest. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to achieve their full potential.
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:
Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with autism.
Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, structured lessons.
Help students develop independence, communication, and social skills.
Provide tailored support for sensory and behavioural needs.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment at all times.
Previous experience with autism or SEN support is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
