Overview

Are you a calm, compassionate, and committed individual with previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, ready to make a real impact in the lives of autistic young people?

Quokka Education is proud to be supporting a Top 10 secondary school in Hampshire, recognised for its inclusive ethos, outstanding leadership, and excellent SEND provision. We're helping them find a dedicated Autism Learning Support Practitioner (Grade C) to join their experienced team on a full-time basis.

This is a Grade C position, so the school is ideally looking for someone with previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar classroom-based role.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support, focusing on students with autism and more complex needs
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 or small group interventions
  • Act as a keyworker for specific students, building trust and consistency
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and professionals to create tailored support plans
  • Contribute to the SEND team by sharing best practices and learning strategies
  • Support emotional, behavioural, and academic development in a structured environment
What We\'re Looking For
  • Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in an SEN support role
  • A calm, kind, and proactive approach to working with young people
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A sense of humour, team spirit, and a passion for inclusive education

Hours & Pay
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm (Term Time Only)
  • Salary: Grade C - £24,405 to £25,430
  • Actual Salary (Term Time Only): £19,183 to £19,988
