Role Purpose

This position is within the Audit Technology Delivery Team (ATDT) in KPMG's Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) Function. You will work with business and architectural teams to design, deploy, and evolve resilient cloud infrastructure, focusing on infrastructure as code, DevOps, and automated testing. Your expertise in scalable patterns, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, observability, and security will be vital in delivering high-value Audit platforms.

We seek an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and supporting our Audit platform infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build and operate cloud infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure.
  2. Guide and promote modern technical practices.
  3. Lead sprint planning and prioritize team workloads.
  4. Mentor team members to enhance their cloud skills.
  5. Collaborate across teams and work independently when needed.
  6. Stay updated with emerging technologies and bring innovative ideas.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  1. 5+ years of Microsoft Azure experience in a Team Lead role.
  2. Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps and GitHub, scripting in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM templates.
  3. Deep understanding of Azure components like identity, security, networking.
  4. Knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings.
  5. Experience with data products like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks.
  6. Proficiency in infrastructure as code with Terraform or similar tools.

Other desirable skills include:

  1. Applying the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
  2. Testing infrastructure components with tools like Pester.
  3. Certifications such as ITIL, Terraform, Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer.
  4. Understanding of audit-related applications and compliance industries.
