Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Attendance Coach within Leicester College. As an Attendance Coach, you will have responsibility for monitoring the attendance and punctuality of maths and English students in the College, predominantly aged between 16 - 18. Your role will be to encourage and promote good attendance, as well as talking to and meeting students and their parents where attendance does not meet the expected standards. As a member of the curriculum team, you will work closely with teaching staff and managers to ensure accurate attendance data is recorded, and help and support is provided for students that enables them to attend regularly and to achieve their qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality of maths and English students (predominantly aged 16 - 18).
  • Encourage and promote good attendance; talk to and meet students and their parents where attendance does not meet expected standards.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and managers to ensure accurate attendance data is recorded.
  • Provide help and support to students to enable them to attend regularly and achieve their qualifications.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to approach difficult issues in a calm and responsible manner.
  • Previous experience of working with young people, ideally in education, youth or a community setting.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individual students, parents, guardians, carers and lecturers.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding policies.
  • Level 2 qualifications in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
