Residential Building Surveyor – AssocRICS / MRICS / FRICS – Home working – Hiring in West London

All areas considered, with West London being of particular interest, but please still apply regardless of your location within London or surrounding areas.

Established in 2015, my client is a well-respected, friendly team of 20 property professionals committed to delivering quality service to their customers.

They focus on quality over quantity, carrying out four to five Level 3 Surveys per week, with one day per week in the office or working from home reserved for report writing.

Offering:

• Basic salary: £60,000 - £85,000 per annum (agency approx.).
• Pension contributions (Government standard).
• 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after 5 years and 26 days after 7 years.
• Workplace pension (standard).
• RICS memberships paid.
• 45p per mile mileage allowance.
• Lucrative bonus scheme: 20% of income above threshold per quarter (threshold varies between £20,000 and £30,000). For example, at a threshold of £25,000 and quarterly income of £50,000, the bonus would be £5,000 per quarter, totaling approximately £20,000 annually, paid quarterly on top of the basic salary.

Additional information:

• Average of five surveys per week, generating more than £200,000 in net fees per annum approximately.
• Turnaround time: 2-3 days for Level 2, 4-5 days for Level 3.
• Technology used includes Go Report for reporting and drones for site assistance when required.
• Opportunities for career development into valuation and party wall work with training and support.
• Progression opportunities include assisting the department director with referral work, with an associated bonus scheme.
• Average fees: Level 2 (£750 without valuation, £980 with valuation), Level 3 (£1,425).
• Bookings managed by an in-house administrator and admin team who handle file setup, T&Cs, final report dispatch, follow-up calls/meetings, and client reviews.
• Many surveyors have been with the company for 5 to 15 years.
• Work from home with office attendance expected once a week or fortnight.
• Flexible working arrangements available around family commitments, subject to agreement with the line manager and ability to make up time.
