Overview

Residential Building Surveyor – AssocRICS / MRICS – Hiring in North London. Established around five years ago, my client are a well-respected independent, close-knit team of around seven property professionals who are committed to delivering a quality service for their customers.

They have a genuine focus on quality over quantity, with reports produced over three days per week and two days in the office per week reserved for report writing. They are able to tailor arrangements depending on your professional skill set and the work you prefer to focus on.

Being a multi-disciplinary business operating across professional building surveying, project management and valuation for lending purposes, they are happy to train and support your career development should you wish to learn other areas of surveying and valuation.

Depending on your experience and preferences, the Residential Building Surveying opening will likely include L2 and L3 work, typically two L2s per day or one L3 per day (there may be some flexibility depending on individual conversations and personal requirements).

They have larger aspirations for the next ten years, which the Director will be happy to discuss; as with any growing business, progression opportunities are likely for those seeking them in the coming years.

Benefits

• Base salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience
• No car allowance, included in base salary

Additional information

• The average turnaround time for a building survey is 7 days, may be longer for commercial.
• For technology, they are still looking at ways to improve efficiency; currently using dictation and writing up reports in the office. They are reviewing systems to enable more seamless reporting.
• For career development, if you wish to diversify into valuation, party wall work or project management they will likely be open to offering training and support.
• Their average fee is around £1,100 to £1,200 for a L3; north of this for a commercial building survey.

All figures quoted above are approximate and there may be additional car allowance or bonus payments.
