East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) Multiple locations across our service area (Tiverton, Newport, Middletown, East Providence, Warren)

Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a real difference in children's lives? EBCAP Head Start is seeking a dedicated Teacher Associate to join our mission of providing high‑quality, nurturing educational experiences that prepare children for lifelong success.

As a Teacher Associate, you'll be at the heart of our classroom community, working alongside talented educators to create transformative learning experiences for young children during their most critical developmental years. What You'll Do
  • Design and implement engaging activities that spark curiosity in literacy, math, science, and social studies
  • Foster children' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development using evidence‑based approaches
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom environment where every child thrives
  • Use individualized assessment to meet each child's unique needs and learning style
Partner with Families (25%)
  • Build trusting relationships with families through open communication and respect
  • Conduct home visits and parent‑teacher conferences that celebrate growth and address needs
  • Empower families to be active participants in their children's education
  • Participate in community recruitment events to expand access to quality early education
Support Classroom Excellence (25%)
  • Collaborate with the Teacher Lead to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Step into leadership roles when needed, guiding assistants and volunteers
  • Serve as a positive liaison with host programs and school personnel
  • Implement specialized therapeutic plans for children in our Kids Connect program
Grow Professionally (10%)
  • Access 20+ hours of annual training and professional development
  • Work with a supportive team committed to excellence in early childhood education
  • Contribute to agency‑wide initiatives that strengthen our community impact
What We're Looking For

Education (one of the following):

  • High school diploma/GED with 6 ECE credit hours and willingness to complete CDA within one year
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Early Childhood
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Experience:

  • Teaching experience in an early childhood setting
  • Passion for working with young children and their families
