A leading healthcare organization in the UK is seeking an Associate Head of School to support the development of the School of Emergency Medicine. The role involves enhancing learner supervision and engagement, providing expert advice, and ensuring effective educational outcomes. This is a fixed-term position with an end date of 31 October 2026, fostering a positive work environment that prioritizes staff well-being and innovation.
The post holder will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Emergency Medicine. The post holder will support the School’s Operational Programme and lead on programmes of work within the School strategy. The post holder will be a member of the School Board.
The post holder will support the School’s commitment to delivering excellent postgraduate Emergency Medicine training, in environments which promote staff wellbeing, a positive learning culture, and a sense of belonging.
As a result of NHS England's (NHSE) integration into the Department of Health, all educator recruitment activity either extensions to existing contracts or new appointments, will now be Fixed Term Contracts, will have an end date of 31 October 2026. We are currently reviewing the recruitment process beyond this date and will provide updates as soon as the new procedures.

If successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the recruitment process.
The Associate HOS will be working with the Head of School, Associate Dean, Host Trusts and the Lead Employer to ensure that all placements provide an inclusive and psychologically safe place in which to work and learn.
