Associate Exam Invigilator

Location: Tresham College - Corby Campus

Salary: £13.20 per hour

Hours/Weeks: Various

Contract Type: Sessional - Hourly Paid

About the role: We are currently seeking an Associate Exam Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Examinations Professionally – Oversee exams in line with Awarding Body and Bedford College Group regulations, ensuring integrity and compliance at all times.
  • Maintain Security & Confidentiality – Safeguard exam papers, scripts, and candidate information before, during, and after examinations.
  • Manage Exam Setup & Delivery – Prepare rooms, seating plans, and materials; issue papers or activate online exams; deliver access arrangements where required.
  • Monitor & Report – Check IDs, complete attendance registers, observe candidates to prevent malpractice, and submit all required documentation promptly.
  • Stay Updated & Compliant – Keep current with JCQ and Awarding Body regulations, uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and participate in training and development.
About you
  • Essential Qualifications – GCSE English & Maths (A‑C or equivalent) or willingness to achieve Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Relevant Experience – Customer‑focused roles, working with diverse groups, using Microsoft applications, and following procedures and regulations.
  • Core Skills – Excellent customer service and organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines, maintain a welcoming environment, and communicate confidently face‑to‑face.
  • Professional Attributes – Honest, reliable, adaptable, and committed to learning; able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.

What is an Associate?

Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
