Overview

Soulbury 3-8 (plus 3 Spa points). We are seeking to appoint Associate Educational Psychologists to join our supportive and dynamic team. The service is committed to solution‑oriented approaches and evidence‑based psychology to promote inclusion and achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. We have a central base in Gateshead with hybrid working and strong administrative support.

Associate Educational Psychologists will contribute to the Statutory Needs Assessment of children and young people with special educational needs by providing effective, high quality and outcomes‑based psychological advice. There is also the potential to engage with other work as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, outcomes‑based psychological advice for statutory needs assessments.
  • Engage with other work as required within the service.
  • Contribute to decision making to support inclusion and positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and issues within Special Education Needs and school improvement.
  • Experience using applied psychology and evidence‑based practice with children, young people and associated professionals in education and community settings.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within local authorities as an Educational Psychologist, with the ability to produce high quality advice and reports.
  • Honours Degree in Psychology eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered (GBC) membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Postgraduate training in Educational Psychology recognised by the Health Care Professions Council and HCPC registration.
  • Current driving licence with access to a car or means to mobility support.
