Job description

We're currently seeking experienced and ambitious Associate Commercial Lead/Commercial Manager professionals to work with our client in Manchester on secure, challenging, and rewarding projects.

These contract roles require security clearance prior to assignment. Opportunities are available in Manchester.

You will work across diverse internal projects and teams, assessing requirements to provide solutions and services that meet customer needs, ensuring organizational excellence and compliance. You will have the chance to showcase your skills on unique projects.

You will demonstrate responsiveness, efficiency, and professionalism in supporting the Commercial Lead, managing your own portfolio or workstreams to ensure the delivery of goods and services. Your contributions will span the entire project lifecycle, including specifications, ITTs, contracts, and contract management. You will support continuous improvement of commercial capabilities and drive opportunities to enhance customer offerings, inspiring others to do the same. Strong commercial acumen, influencing skills, prioritization, negotiation, and people skills are essential.

With significant commercial expertise, your analytical skills and ability to balance risks and benefits will be critical. You will develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues, prioritizing delivery amidst complex activities. An enthusiastic approach to problem resolution, customer focus, and attention to detail will help you create and deliver solutions and identify new opportunities.

Your qualification, experience, skills, and behaviours:

You will have:

  • Demonstrable experience in commercial roles
  • Experience in sourcing, supply chain, or supplier management
  • Responsibility for contract and framework agreements
  • Experience across the project lifecycle (drafting specifications, ITTs, evaluating contracts, ensuring value for money)
  • Ability to develop commercial plans and strategic documents
  • Knowledge of buying, invoicing, billing, and contract creation
  • Proven ability to achieve cost reductions and efficiencies
  • Data analysis skills for decision support
  • Contractual issue resolution experience
  • Strong relationship management skills with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Ideally, experience in technology or digital environments

You will also:

  • Hold or be willing to attain a professional qualification such as CIPS Level 5 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate coaching, mentoring, leadership, problem-solving, task management, and communication skills
