Cumming Group are looking to recruit an Associate Building Surveyor to join our team in the London office. As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will provide expert-level consultancy and project support for construction projects across various stages and sectors-from concept design to construction completion. You will partner with a diverse set of clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional value, acting as a trusted advisor and helping to ensure successful project outcomes. We want an ambitious individual with an existing and new client driven focus delivering and maintaining high quality service lines.
Responsibilities
- Providing a high quality of service on the projects you are managing and taking full ownership, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered.
- Developing further your management skills by managing colleagues for the delivery of your projects working closely with members of staff in the delivery of projects.
- Managing projects to high a standard which exceeds client expectations, via ownership and responsibility of tasks.
- Running projects to budgets and programme, as well as establishing and ensuring the correct reporting lines are maintained.
- Able to identify and resolve client issues or concerns and know when to expand issues to senior members of staff.
- Mentoring more junior members of the team and provide team members with formal and informal feedback to encourage them to develop their skills, knowledge and experience.
- Growing your personal and professional profile via internal and external involvement in events, seminars and networks.
- A trusted member of the business and respected by peers and leadership.
- Clean driving licence.
- Accurate and excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements
- RICS qualified preferably with 5 years’ relevant post‐qualification commercial surveying experience, but a suitable candidate will be considered.
- Proven track record on project management.
- Good appreciation of professional and project‑based building surveying matters.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Present a professional knowledgeable persona and possess business acumen.
- Build, develop and maintain existing business and client relationships.
- Organise and prioritise tasks so that they are completed within an agreed time frame.
- Provide concise and clear written communication.
- Understand the local and wider property market.
- Able to actively contribute to business development activities, maintaining key client relationships and growing new ones.
- Able to plan and manage own workload and that of other direct reports.
- Able to delegate whilst maintaining accountability and ensuring delivery.
