  • Initiate and develop relationships with 12‑to‑19‑year‑olds (up to 25 years for vulnerable groups) and enable them to broaden their horizons and involvement in positive activities.
  • Design and develop youth work responses underpinned by the four cornerstones of youth work: equality, participation, education and empowerment, and deliver the Youth Offer.
  • Engage with young people in an educational process that deepens their understanding of themselves, their community and the world, supporting them to proactively bring about positive change.
  • Work as part of the Targeted Youth Support Team’s core offerings, including detached/outreach work on the streets, SEND work for 12‑19 year‑olds (up to 25 if SEN), safe spaces via a targeted youth club, and enhanced programmes such as LGBTQ+ groups or mental‑health‑focused groups.
  • Support the development of district youth councils linked to Lancashire Youth Council, and regional and national initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of attendance, activities and youth support plans.
