As the Assistant Station Manager with a key focus on our Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro Power Station, you’ll play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and innovation in renewable energy generation.

What you will do
  • Provide visible leadership at the Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro generation asset
  • Manage daily operations and engage with stakeholders to deliver business plan objectives
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, technical requirements, and quality systems
  • Drive station performance in reliability, financial control, and commercial delivery
  • Coordinate activities on site and provide services to the System Operator
  • Develop and implement business objectives and KPIs aligned with First Hydro targets
  • Manage and improve Health & Safety culture and performance on site
Qualifications
  • Degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Skilled leader with a track record in power plant operations and maintenance
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation
  • Effective communicator who can adapt to various stakeholders, from staff to senior management
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Adaptable team player with the ability to learn and handle complex situations
  • Ideally, a Chartered Membership of an engineering institution and formal management qualifications
