Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Residential new builds

Location: West London

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + £4,500 – £5,000 car allowance

A major property developer is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. The role is office based with a hybrid working model. You would start off assisting a Senior Quantity Surveyor with managing one of their larger projects before taking over a smaller scheme and managing this independently.

The ideal candidate would have around 2 years of experience as a surveyor and may have started in the residential sector, looking to develop their career within a supportive team that offers progression opportunities.

  • Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Start: ASAP but willing to wait for notice periods

Responsibilities
  • Cost Control & Forecasting: Tracking actual expenditure against the approved budget, preparing cash flow forecasts, and applying value engineering principles to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Valuations & Payments: Measuring and valuing work completed on-site by contractors and subcontractors to certify and authorize payments.
  • Variation Management: Administering changes to the scope of works and evaluating their impact on project cost and programme.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential financial risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Final Account Negotiation: Agreeing and settling final accounts through negotiation with relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with contractual requirements.
