Job summary

A leading construction firm in Lincoln is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their North Midlands region. This full-time, permanent role involves supporting financial aspects of projects and ensuring high standards of delivery. Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Type: This is a full time, permanent role. Ideally 40 hours over 5 days per week.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our North Midlands region, initially to support the completion of a project in Lincoln.

Responsibilities
  • Providing support to line manager and promoting a partnering environment.
  • Taking responsibility for financial aspects of a project, when appropriate.
  • Supporting other members of the team to achieve successful project delivery.
  • Aspire to the very highest standards of quality, service and business performance, ensuring clients are satisfied.
  • Tackling difficult issues early by promoting early resolution to problems.
  • Being commercially aware of the environment around you and applying common sense, good judgement, and demonstrating financial understanding.
  • Achieving project targets whilst maintaining client and supply chain relationships.
  • To assist with Sub Contractor Procurement, Subcontract orders and general Contract Administration ensuring these are completed to the necessary deadlines.
  • Collating and keep up to date tracking documents and fully complying with our standards.
  • Ensuring the Regional and Company procedures are fulfilled in relation to the processing of Subcontractor Payments.
  • Assess performance and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Understand the step down to the supply chain and enforce where appropriate.
  • Any other duties associated with this position which are related to the objectives of the Company or Team.
Key Skills & Experience Required
  • Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Ideally 1-2 years main contracting experience.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Accuracy of administration and compliance with company standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Performance against project budgets.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Must be willing to adapt to business requirements.
  • Driving license essential.
