Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience working with a Residential Developer, Specialist Subcontractor, or Main Contractor.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
• Proactive approach and willingness to develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Project QS with cost planning and financial management.
• Support in tendering and procurement of subcontract packages.
• Manage and assess subcontractor applications and payments.
• Monitor project budgets and forecasts.
• Liaise with site teams for accurate commercial reporting.
• Contribute to maintaining strong supply chain relationships.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Location: Hoddesdon - Salary: £45,000-£55,000 + Benefits (DOE) - Contract Type: Permanent

An established, high-quality residential developer—known for delivering premium houses and contemporary apartment schemes across the Southeast—is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This opportunity is based on a brand-new development of 350 homes and apartments, offering long‑term career progression within a supportive and well‑structured environment.

Reporting directly to the Senior Project Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project, taking responsibility for procurement, cost control, valuations, and subcontractor management as the development progresses through multiple phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Project QS with cost planning, reporting, and financial management.
• Support in tendering and procurement of subcontract packages.
• Manage and assess subcontractor applications, variations, and payments.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
• Liaise closely with site teams to ensure accurate commercial reporting.
• Contribute to maintaining strong supply‑chain relationships.

Requirements
