Assistant Quantity Surveyor – The Role

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist in delivering cost consultancy services from feasibility through to final account. The role will involve supporting senior team members in cost planning, contract administration, and procurement across multiple live projects.

You’ll have the chance to work closely with clients and contractors while developing your technical knowledge and progressing towards chartership.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation
• Support the production of monthly cost reports and financial updates
• Contribute to procurement processes, including tender analysis and recommendations
• Help administer building contracts under JCT and NEC forms
• Attend project meetings and contribute to change control and risk reviews
• Collaborate with senior surveyors and project managers across project stages

• 1-3 years’ experience in a consultancy or client-side QS role
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Familiarity with both pre- and post-contract duties
