Overview

We are looking for two enthusiastic and highly motivated psychology graduates to work as band 4 Assistant Psychologists in adult community psychological services across Mid Essex. One post is based at the C&E Centre, in Chelmsford, and the other at the Gables, in Braintree. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of dynamic and dedicated multi-disciplinary teams and to gain experience of Clinical Psychology in the NHS. The contract is 6 month fixed term until 31/03/2026.

Responsibilities
  • Support qualified staff in the development and running of therapeutic programmes and carrying out service evaluation projects and audits of various therapeutic interventions and initiatives.
  • Co-facilitate a range of manualised group therapy programmes, shadowing and helping out with generic and specialist clinical assessments and offering manualised individual therapy under supervision, when appropriate.
  • Promote the psychological health and wellbeing of service users waiting for a psychological intervention to start.
  • Under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, provide psychological and wellbeing reviews to service users, in the form of phone calls.
  • Under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, undertake protocol based psychological reviews of needs, self-report measures, rating scales and semi-structured interviews.
  • Assist, under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, in collecting clinical data on throughput, outcome measures and service development.
