Job description
Overview

We have a vacancy for an assistant psychologist to work within the Trust's inpatient service, Mitford (located in Northgate Hospital, Morpeth, Northumberland). The service provides care for autistic adults with significant co-occurring conditions (e.g. severe mental health conditions) who require admission to hospital. Psychological services are a key part of the multidisciplinary team within Mitford. You will be involved in supporting the delivery of psychological approaches (including psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within a Positive Behaviour Support model) within Mitford. There will also be opportunities to undertake clinical research within Mitford. You will work with an experienced and highly motivated clinical team and receive high quality supervision.

Responsibilities

The post is based within Mitford but may require travel across the Trust's geographical patch. The post holder's main duties are to assist qualified clinical psychologists in the delivery of psychological provision; providing psychological assessment and specific interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. The post holder will be involved in clinically related service delivery, administration, data collection, development of research projects, teaching and project work.
