Role Overview

We are now looking for an Assistant Procurement Manager to join our Programme Commercial Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team at an exciting time, with multi‑billion‑pound Strategic Procurement in its early stages as well as a very busy team dealing with the business‑as‑usual procurement activity. This role will be in the business‑as‑usual procurement team.

If you are looking for an exciting challenge, as well as the opportunity to gain experience within a forward‑thinking procurement function on one of the world's most prestigious heritage projects, then this job could be for you.

You will support senior colleagues in all areas of procurement delivery including bidder communications, tender logistics, interviews and evaluation planning. You will be one of the key users of our e‑procurement system and will also have the opportunity to manage the end‑to‑end process for lower value or non‑complex framework procurements, providing an excellent level of support to internal teams and departments to ensure they are able to progress their procurements effectively.

Salary: circa £50,000 per annum

Essential skills and experience
  • Proven track record of working in a similar procurement role in a professional setting.
  • Experience of procurement activities and service delivery, including framework mini‑competitions, sub‑threshold procurement activities, and a good understanding of legislation as per Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Procurement Act 2023.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of maintaining records accurately with strong attention to detail, analysing and reporting and identifying issues.
  • Able to use effective organisational skills and time management to deliver quickly and accurately to customers across a high volume of requests.
  • Experience in using e‑procurement tools, preferably Jaggaer and AWARD.
  • Can work with minimal supervision following standard rules or guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Completion of the Government Commercial Function Transforming Public Procurement Certification Module.
