Overview

Assistant Network Planning Officer, North London

Pay rate to £27 per hour

Contract role, Local Government Planning

Responsibilities

• To support the Principal Network Planning Officers, Team Leader and Head of Service to ensure that all notices, licences and permit applications received satisfy legislative specifications and that Council objectives are achieved.
• Represent the Council as an officer to educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public
• Provide technical support within the Highway Network Management Team to ensure efficient, customer-focused services aligned with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Highways Act 1980, and Traffic Management Act 2004.
• Coordinate all highway works to maintain traffic flow and minimise disruption.
• Oversee control, management, and inspection of works on the Highway Network, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Liaise with internal and external work promoters to reduce disruption across Harrow and neighbouring authorities.
• Ensure compliance with the Permit Scheme, issuing notices and charges where necessary.
• Process invoices and follow up as required.
