Overview
East Suffolk Services Limited (ESSL) is hiring for an Assistant Manager to lead and manage the Facilities Management team. Location options: East Suffolk Services Limited, Lowestoft NR32 2EF or Ufford, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 6ET, depending on preference. Salary: £39,152 - £42,839 per annum. Hours: 37 per week. Contract: Permanent.

Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of high-quality facilities management services across a varied portfolio of buildings and commercial contracts.
- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including inspection and maintenance of 97 play areas; ensure services are delivered in line with agreed standards.
- Manage internal teams and subcontractors, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Act as the main client contact, resolve issues, and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
- Help develop the commercial element of facilities management.
- Coordinate seasonal and emergency responses (gritting operations, flood defence deployment, and barrier erection during tidal events), collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure public safety.
What You Will Need
- Solid experience in facilities management with strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively; strong problem-solving skills.
- Relevant professional qualification and knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements.
- Ability to engage with clients and manage complex operational challenges.
