Overview

Role Purpose: As a Senior Team Member at Stephens Bakery, you play a key role in keeping the shop running smoothly day to day. You’re responsible for opening the shop, setting up for the day, running the shift, and delegating tasks to the team. While you’re not responsible for HR or performance management, you are a steady, reliable presence that helps maintain high standards in customer service, food quality, and shop operations. We are looking for someone to join our team at our Bakery Shop in Kirkcaldy on a 24-30 hour contract.

Responsibilities
  • Shift Running & Task Delegation: Take the lead in shop routines, ensuring trade runs smoothly from open to close. Run shifts confidently, and delegate tasks clearly and fairly. Support your Shop in running the shop when on shift with them. Step in to problem-solve small issues during the shift and flag bigger ones to the management as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy environment for both customers and the team.
  • Customer Service & Product Standards: Actively serve customers alongside the team and model excellent customer service. Encourage the team to take pride in their work. Make sure the shop is always welcoming, clean, and well-stocked with fresh, high-quality product. Monitor presentation standards throughout the day and take action to keep them high.
  • Safety, Compliance & Operations: Help ensure the team follows all food safety, health & safety, and company policies. Carry out daily checks and paperwork to keep the shop compliant and safe. Manage opening and closing duties, till processes, and cash handling. Support ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.
  • Team Support: Be a reliable and encouraging presence on shift, helping others stay on task and work well together. Offer guidance to newer team members and help develop the team. Keep communication clear and respectful, and raise any concerns to your manager when needed.
