Assistant Manager – Full Time

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager for our shop in Darlington, Durham. This is a permanent full‑time position working a variety of shifts over 5 days per week, usually including at least one weekend shift. You will be fully flexible in your availability throughout the week, including weekends.

Key Information

Hours: 43 hours across 5 days per week.
Salary: £30,240 – £31,392 per annum on a 43‑hour contract.
Location: Darlington, Durham.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to customers.
  • Be responsible for the development of your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
  • Take accountability for the shop in the absence of the shop manager, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop.
  • Motivate and guide your team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
  • Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.
