Overview

Selwood is a £90m turnover company employing 500 staff across its nationwide network of branches. We are a leading private company serving the Water, Environmental and Construction industries, with a specialist pump hire division and a global sales network. We focus on innovative customer service, product development, manufacture and service.

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Pump Sales & Manufacturing (PSM) financial team at our head office in Chandler's Ford. The role delivers compliant and timely reporting to internal customers and stakeholders. You will analyse and make recommendations regarding the effective manufacture and sale of pumps and stock management, providing timely information to key decision makers and generating ideas to aid the business. This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours per week (3 days, 08:30-17:00). We are happy to discuss alternative working patterns if required.

Responsibilities
  • Support the team in the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting, including weekly revenue and margin, monthly forecast and actual reports, stock, capex and KPI reporting to Group Finance and the Business Unit Leadership Team (LT), adhering to strict timetabled deadlines.
  • Support the team in preparing the accounts for the Equipment Refurbishment Centre (ERC).
  • Support the team in correctly transacting refurbished product capitalisation and stock management in the ERC.
  • Support the team in the preparation of the annual plan for PS&M and the ERC and associated reports, whilst generating new reports as required on request.
  • Support the team to provide financial and some non-financial KPIs on a monthly and quarterly basis and investigate any significant variances.
  • Responsible for accurate work-in-progress (WIP) cost accounting.
  • Support for accurate stock accounting including processing routine write off costs and preparation of obsolete stock provisions.
  • Support the maintenance and development of reporting dashboards using the Microsoft Power BI tool.
  • Support Central Finance with year-end audit, ad-hoc projects, and any other finance tasks as required.
