What skills and experience we're looking for

The Trust is looking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher and invites applications from professionals with vision and drive to inspire and lead on the strategic development of aspects of the curriculum and teaching in the school.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to be responsible for the implementation of key strategies and policies to secure continued school improvement. We are looking for someone who puts students first, proactively focuses on the development, sharing and monitoring of best practice to help across the school.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent, inspiring class teacher with a proven track record of strong student progress, and with a passion to make a difference for all our students. The role involves working closely with the newly appointed Deputy Headteacher and Head of School to lead and be accountable for key aspects identified in the job description such as (but not exhaustive).

  • Key Stage 3 lead (assessment, curriculum, teaching and learning, homework, parents’ evenings & events)
  • Foundational knowledge (reading, spelling, handwriting, maths)
  • Reading strategy lead
  • Oracy strategy lead

The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for all staff, families and relevant stakeholders, and organisational skills are key. They will be actively encouraged and supported to engage with high quality CPD as part of this role.
