Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant environmental discipline with emphasis on EIA/SEA.
  • Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar position within the UK or a comparable jurisdiction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a high level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of health and safety excellence.
  • Experience or interest in specialist environmental surveys (e.g., ecology, noise, air quality).
  • Willingness to travel to client locations across the UK and internationally.
  • Sound knowledge of UK environmental and planning legislation, especially EIA legislation.
  • Practical knowledge of technical disciplines required for an EIA.
  • Membership of a professional association such as IEMA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in coordinating a site selection report for an offshore wind farm.
  • Assist in implementing the latest digital EIA approaches.
  • Coordinate land access required to undertake EIA surveys such as archaeological investigations.
  • Contribute to a stakeholder engagement strategy.
  • Assist with finalising an Environmental Statement ready for submission.

Job Overview

As an Assistant Consultant in the EIA team, you will provide support to managing and delivering environmental consultancy services to a full range of clients. You will assist in coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs, as well as undertaking broader environmental management tasks for a variety of projects.
