Job description

The successful applicant with be working as part of a small team in an industrial kitchen providing meals to people with varied diets.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of all food and beverages as and when required, as directed by the cook, assistant cook or manager, whilst ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • To deputise in the absence of the cook
  • To prepare and serve food in accordance with defined standards and quality, working within CQC /OFSTED guidelines regarding current health safety and hygiene legislation and Health and Safety policy, with the aim of achieving high standards of customer care and good quality at low cost.
  • To help to maintain excellent standards within the kitchen to meet the needs of environmental health and to help maintain current hygiene rating of 5 star.
  • To promote and participate in a proactive approach to Health and Safety in the delivery of all catering operations.
  • To keep abreast of new initiatives, systems, and regulations through regular training.
  • Promote effective waste management within the kitchen.
  • Safeguard people’s human rights at all times and ensure that the care and support provided, protects people, and ensures their safety and well-being.
  • Work as part of a team, to provide practical, emotional and flexible care and support, geared to the needs and goals of the individual, as identified within their Care Plan.
