Job Title

Assistant Children's Home Manager (Ref: Bradford 5284386)

Pay and Contract

Pay Rate: £200.80 per day PAYE

Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 3 months

Working Arrangement: On site. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required by service needs.

Enhanced DBS Requirement

Enhanced DBS needed for this role.

Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum NVQ4 or equivalent Child Care qualification
  • At least 4 years experience in a setting working with children and young people, preferably residential, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity
  • Good understanding and knowledge of physical, intellectual, linguistic, social and emotional development of babies, children and young people
  • Experience working with others in the children and young people’s workforce to put the child at the heart of decision making, offering help at the earliest point
  • Understanding and application of health and safety working practices, including risk, in own area of work and across other areas (including legislation)
  • Good IT skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the home manager to ensure a secure and stable environment that enables children and young people to develop to their full potential
  • Provide inspirational leadership and lead by example to enable staff to support children and young people by embracing Bradford’s “Model of Care” and using these principles to improve outcomes and enable them to reach their full potential
  • Liaise with OFSTED when necessary, ensuring they are made aware of relevant issues regarding the care and welfare of the children and young people
