This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a difference in an ambitious company. We offer an amazing culture and mentoring system to ensure that you have everything you need to reach your potential. We place a great emphasis on career growth, as exemplified by our Managing Partner, who started his career here as an audit graduate.

The important work you will be doing:

  • You will directly report to our team of audit managers and audit partners when leading audit assignments. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with directors and partners.
  • Your responsibilities will include all aspects of leading audit assignments, from planning to completion, including the preparation of financial statements. You will also be responsible for coaching junior team members, building strong client relationships and preparing high-quality audit files for manager review.
  • Your work will be mostly on-site at client premises or in our Nottingham office, where you will have significant exposure to client staff and management.

The skills and experience you will bring:

  • You will need 3-4 years' experience in audit.
  • A keen interest in advising and assisting businesses and a willingness to engage and communicate with client personnel.
  • Strong technical ability and proven track record of academic achievement, including ACA/ACCA qualification.
  • The ability to work in a team with a personable approach.
  • Hard-working and a willingness to complete audits to deadlines.
  • Additionally, you are expected to have a full driving licence and access to a car.
Why PKF Smith Cooper?
  • Our company culture, built on our values – Engage, Empower and Excel – encourages initiative, personal growth, and collaboration. Every team member is appreciated and celebrated; a notion embodied in our Kudos Reward Scheme.
  • The firm’s Partners, who remain actively invested in the development of employees, will both support and champion your professional development and progression.
  • We work with ambitious businesses of different sizes across a variety of sectors, so no two jobs are the same.
  • We are multi-award-winning accountants and business advisors, ranked the 12th biggest firm by UK fee income in the Accountancy Age Top 50+50.
