Assistant Accountant — Mansfield – Hybrid, 4 days onsite

Salary: Up to £35,000

We’re looking for a Assistant Accountant who’s confident across end-to-end finance processes and happy rolling up their sleeves in a business where not two days are quite the same. You’ll have the chance to take real ownership, keep things running smoothly, and add value across the team.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing accounts payable & receivable from start to finish
  • Running bank reconciliations and keeping the balance sheet in check
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Supporting with month-end close (accruals, prepayments, margin analysis)
  • Lending a hand with payroll
  • Partnering with operations to support reporting and performance
  • Pitching in with the odd ad hoc task to keep things moving
What we’re looking for
  • Experience across finance processes (SME/manufacturing background a bonus)
  • Part qualified or QBE accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • A reliable, practical, and organised approach, someone who can be trusted to get things done
  • Strong IT and Excel skills (experience with Xero is a nice bonus)
