Qualifications

  • Part qualified Accountant with relevant studies.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting function.
  • Prepare Year-End accounts and control account reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
  • Manage the company's Fixed Assets Register.
  • Monitor daily cash flow for adequate liquidity.
  • Manage employee expenses policy and claims.
  • Support VAT return processes.
  • Review supplier payment runs.

Skills

Part qualified Accountant studying with CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent

VANRATH are delighted to be working with an award winning manufacturing business based in the Cookstown area, to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to become part of a well-established finance team. This role will initially be on a 9 month contract basis with a view to going permanent.

What you'll do

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting and compliance processes.

  • Assist with the comprehensive preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, liaising effectively with other finance sub-departments.
  • Perform ongoing Year-End accounts preparation, including control account reconciliations and Balance Sheet schedules.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Manage the company's Fixed Assets Register.
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Manage the company's employee expenses policy and claims, ensuring adherence and timely processing.
  • Checking and supporting the process for UK and ROI VAT returns.
  • Review and approve weekly and monthly supplier payment runs.
  • Provide cover and support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams during holiday periods or peak times.
About You

Essential

  • Part qualified Accountant studying with either CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to use own initiative and demonstrate a high level of organisational skill.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial people.
