Job summary

A property management firm in Croydon is seeking an Assistant Accountant to maintain financial data and collaborate with the finance team. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Accounting and Finance or AAT, at least three years of experience, and must be proficient in Xero. This full-time role offers a salary of £26,000 per annum.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible with your time keeping at all times.
  • Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members for accounting tasks.
  • Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
  • Create financial documents where needed.
  • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts.
  • Coordinate payment and billing details of service providers.
  • Verify payments and deposits made through the company account.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Month end journals including payroll, accruals, etc.

Skills

Role details

TITLE: Assistant Accountant

ROLE: To keep financial data up to date

REPORTS TO: Group Financial Controller

REPORTS IN: None

HOURS: Full time - 37.5 hours. Monday to Friday

LOCATION: Head Office in Croydon

SALARY: £26,000 per annum

Responsibilities
  • To be responsible with your time keeping at all times.
  • Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks including but not limited to bookkeeping, postings etc.
  • Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
  • Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, payables, receivables and purchase orders where needed.
  • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
  • Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
  • Verify payments and deposits made through the company account.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Month end journals including payroll, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc
