Assembly Technician

Temporary

Role: Assembly TechnicianLocation: Bradford, commutable from Dewsbury, Wakefield, Leeds, Halifax, North HuddersfieldStatus: Temp to PermanentPay: £12.60/hour starting, rising to £13.59/hour after full trainingHours: Mon-Wed: 07:00-17:00, Thus: 07:00-16:30, Optional overtime on Fridays (Time + ½)Join one of the UK's leading independent engineering and services companies. Based near the M606 in Bradford, the site is easily accessible from South Leeds, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Birstall, Halifax and North Huddersfield.

Assembly Technician is a hands-on role offering long-term stability, skill development and clear progression opportunities. Immediate starts available! Excellent benefits and holiday package available when you transfer permanent. Experience ideal but training will be provided and Grade pay increased according to the training plan structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembling components using hand tools, power tools, and screwing machines
  • Building and stacking parts to specification
  • Crimping, screwing, and wrapping (including boat wrapping)
  • Preparing welds and working with pipe ancillaries
  • Kitting, cutting (pipe, basket, tray, trunking) and measuring material
  • Working with plastic pipework, conduits, ducting, and pipe spoolingo
  • Operating cranes and FLTs (Forklift Trucks) - Bonus but not essential
Technical Work as Assembly Technician
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Installing and testing distribution boards
  • Performing quality inspections and basic preventative maintenance
  • Lagging and troubleshooting assembly issues
Safety & Standards
  • Adhering to strict Health & Safety protocol
  • Keeping workspaces clean and organised
  • Ensuring accurate and high-quality assembly throughout
Daily duties as Assembly Technician
  • Practical experience with tools, machinery or similar assembly tasks
  • Ability to read technical drawings or willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with power tools, screwing machines and crane/FLT operation
  • A detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and team-focused attitude
