Assembly Operative

Location: Fareham

Contract: 6-month Contract

Pay rate: £23.66 Umbrella PAYE rate

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a skilled Assembly Operative to join our clients aerospace manufacturing team. You will manufacture various components and assemblies using recognised processes. You will be working to engineering drawings and MBS routings and responsible for self-inspection in line with aerospace standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture components, assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, MBS routings, and build specifications
  • Carry out encapsulation and potting of electrical and mechanical assemblies in line with engineering drawings.
  • Work efficiently and accurately to agreed standards demonstrating the ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Self-inspection capability and uphold quality requirements in line with aerospace standards
  • Set up, operate and use jigs and fixtures for assembly and test activities
  • Take responsibility for housekeeping and shop floor tidiness maintaining a safe and organised working environment
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements of the Assembly Operative
  • Proven experience as an Assembly Operative or similar within the aerospace industry,
  • Expertise in Vacuum Brazing, General Assembly or Soldering
  • Strong manual dexterity and experience in manual assembly operations
  • Experience with Coil Winding, Induction Brazing or Resistance Welding is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of Lean tools such as 6S, Poka-Yoke, Kanbans
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
