Overview

A Specialist School just outside of Reading is looking for a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate to join their support team and work with their students coping with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is an ideal role for a graduate hoping to become a trained Psychologist in the future, with a genuine interest in supporting children with psychological needs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other experienced staff to educate the pupils.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours and work one-to-one to keep pupils on task.
  • Identify potential triggers for pupils related to trauma and mental health needs.
  • Facilitate various therapeutic techniques and employ restorative practices to promote mental well-being.
  • Work alongside Psychologists and Therapists based at the school.

  • Recent Psychology or Criminology graduate
  • Proactive, friendly, with a passion for mental health
  • Any prior experience with children and/or adults with additional needs is beneficial
