Job summary

A leading educational support provider is looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Haywards Heath. The role involves supporting children aged 4-11 with special educational needs. Ideal candidates will have a relevant undergraduate degree or SEN experience, and a passion for helping students reach their potential. Working hours are 8:30 to 15:30, five days a week, on a long-term contract.

Overview

Location: Haywards Heath | Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 - 15:30

This is an opportunity for an individual with SEN experience or a Psychology Graduate with keen interest in Special Educational Needs. The role focuses on raising attainment for children aged 4-11 as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

Responsibilities
  • Assisting students academically and pastorally
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups
  • Encourage development of social skills and support students' individual needs
  • Attend staff meetings and complete CPD
  • Follow safeguarding procedures
  • Ensure accurate individual student records are maintained
  • Participate in team meetings and training programmes as an active member of a team
Requirements / Qualifications
  • An Undergraduate Degree (preferred) and/or previous SEN experience; suitable for Psychology Graduates/Aspiring Educational Psychologist
  • Education in English and Maths, Grade 5 / C or above (desired)
  • Knowledge or keen interest in the range of learning and behavioural needs (SEMH, PRU, Cognitive Behaviours)
