A leading education provider in Stockport is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support children with autism and learning difficulties. This role involves sensory care, personal care, and communication through creative means. Candidates should possess a degree in Psychology, Art, or a related field and demonstrate caring qualities. Location: Longsight
Salary: £101.40 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:45 pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: 5th January 2026
Interviews and trial days taking place beforehand
This role involves supporting children with high-support Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Global Development Delay (GDD) in specialist and mainstream schools. Some pupils communicate non‑verbally, making creativity, emotional intelligence, and patience key to success in this role.
This role gives you clinical exposure and practical experience that universities value when applying for Clinical Psychology or Art Therapy postgraduate routes.
