Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to work within ASP PCN.

This post will be based around multiple practices within the Primary Care Network (PCN). Please note that the pay for this role will depend on the candidate's experience.

We are seeking an experienced paramedic with a minimum of five years post-qualification who can transition their ability to deliver high-quality pre-hospital care into the general practice environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team including Pharmacists, Technicians, Nurses, Doctors, GPs, Social Prescribers, and Physiotherapists. You will be supported by the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and expand your clinical and diagnostic skills, with fully funded training, various CPD opportunities, and support from a Lead Paramedic, a peer review network, and a local primary care training hub.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide a specialist Paramedic resource for healthcare professionals and service users, working in collaboration with other members of the PCN MDT.
  • Work across all GP practices within the PCN.
  • Operate as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic, providing holistic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver quality patient services.
  • Use advanced clinical skills to educate patients and service users, promoting self-care and informed decision-making.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed minor illnesses or injuries.
  • Coordinate telephone triage, taking clinical responsibility for urgent appointments.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as trained and deemed safe, including assisting with medical reports, safeguarding, and clinic support.
