A healthcare foundation in York is seeking an Aseptic Pharmacy Technician to join their team. The position involves coordinating daily activities in the aseptic unit and ensuring high standards in preparing pharmaceuticals. Candidates must be registered with the GPhC and should ideally have prior experience in hospital aseptic facilities. This is a full-time role offering a salary between £27,485 and £37,796 annually, dependent on experience, with comprehensive staff benefits including NHS pension and generous holiday entitlements.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the GPhC and prior experience of working in a hospital aseptic facility.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate day to day activities in the aseptic unit.
  • Prepare aseptically prepared products and dispense outsourced parenteral products.
  • Conduct pre-process checking and in-process checking.

Aseptic Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed pharmacy technician to join our friendly and dedicated team of staff working in the aseptic unit at York.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake team leader duties which involve the supervision & co-ordination of the daily workload. This will require exceptional organisational skills and the ability to direct and supervise staff. You will also need enhanced communication skills as the role involves communicating with both customers and suppliers to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Experience of working in an aseptic or manufacturing environment would be beneficial but is not a requirement.

The role will either be a band 4 or 5 depending on experience.

You will be registered with the GPhC (or in a position to do so) and must have prior experience of working in a hospital aseptic facility. Pre and In Process checking accreditation status is essential for the role; you should have this or be willing to working towards checking accreditation status.

Main duties of the job
  • Co-ordination of day to day activities.
  • Preparation of aseptically prepared products.
  • Dispensing of outsourced parenteral products.
  • Undertaking pre-process checking of assembled trays.
  • In-process checking during preparation.
  • Accuracy checking of dispensed Ready to Administer (RtA) products.
  • Generating worksheets for aseptically prepared products.

Education
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • QCF Level 4 or above in a qualification relevant to the post
