Art Teacher – SEMH PRU School – Wembley

The School

Philosophy Education is working in partnership with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wembley to recruit an inspiring Art Teacher to join their team.

This is a supportive and forward-thinking SEMH PRU that caters for pupils aged 11–16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The school provides a nurturing environment where creativity and personal growth are encouraged alongside academic achievement.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate Art Teacher who can engage and motivate pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a creative Art curriculum that helps pupils build confidence, develop practical skills, and express themselves in a safe and supportive setting.

  • Delivering engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Inspiring creativity and resilience in learners with diverse needs
  • Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and emotional needs
  • Working closely with a strong team of teachers, support staff and therapists
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and therapeutic learning environment
The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Art in a secondary setting (PRU/SEMH experience is an advantage but not essential)
  • A creative, flexible and resilient approach to teaching
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
