About the role

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

London South East College is looking for a highly motivated individual to maintain the work in the Art and Design department across campuses to support learner achievement.

The role of the Art and Design Technician is a key role in the department with the maintenance of the teaching areas. This role is vital to learner success.

The successful candidate will work flexibly across the campuses to prepare and maintain equipment and resources for classes and teachers.

The successful candidate will oversee the safe storage of all resources as well as contributing to the achievement of learners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the quality of customer services within the department.

The successful candidate will provide advice on technical issues and be responsible for practical demonstrations to small groups of students in the groups.

The successful candidate will work flexibly in the absence of staff with sickness and support with cover teaching.

Those appointed will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will ensure a safe and well maintained working environment by regularly updating Risk and COSHH assessments.
