Job description

Responsibilities

• As the Gym Pool Custodian and Lifeguard, your main responsibilities will include:
• Operate and maintain the Garrison Swimming pool in accordance with Physical Training directives, swimming policy and Health and Safety guidelines
• Ensure the swimming pool facility remains accessible for the rehabilitation programme for the local service personnel. Be prepared to operate regimental swimming lessons supporting unit Physical Training Instructors
• Regular contact with all Garrison units within the local area and also the wider geographical units that travel to utilise the facility. Good communication and working alongside the Garrison Quartermaster Sergeant Instructor (QMSI) is to uphold the timings and bookings of the swimming pool to use it to full capacity
• Regular pool cleaning, water testing and monitoring of the water quality
• Building custodian for fire and infrastructure responsibilities, with regular liaison with all Garrison units to ascertain their operational requirements
• Point of Contact for the Ambrosden gym when requested by the QMSI
• Train and manage volunteer lifeguards to maintain and enhance opening hours
