A leading construction services provider in the UK is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to focus on field sales of ground shoring products. The role involves developing new business while managing an existing turnover, with significant potential for growth. Ideal candidates will have field sales experience, preferably in ground shoring or civil engineering. Competitive salary of £40,000–£50,000 plus commission of £5,000–£10,000, along with a benefits package including a car allowance.

Overview

Area Sales Manager - Ground Shoring and Groundwork covering Yorkshire. Role focuses on field sales for ground shoring products and related services.

Responsibilities
  • Field sales position selling predominantly the hire (but also the sale) of ground shoring products including: trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifter, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products
  • Selling into groundworkers
  • Inherit a turnover of circa £1m from a leaver; huge opportunity for growth in the area
  • 80% new business development within your own contacts and within the client’s existing formwork & falsework customer database
  • 20% account development targeting existing clients
  • Project sizes range from £1,000 (a few trench boxes for a few weeks) to £6,000+ per week for projects lasting 6 months+ (e.g. 2-3 story basement projects)
  • Visiting construction sites typically 4 days per week and averaging 4 customer visits per day
  • Utilising a team of qualified engineers for technical support
Ideal applicant / Qualifications
  • Preferably with ground shoring, temporary works or civil engineering field sales experience
  • Knowledge of formwork and falsework may be beneficial for selling the wider portfolio
  • Ideally sold into groundworkers
  • Open to technical groundshoring backgrounds looking for first field sales role
  • Open to hire or sales industry field sales experience
  • Proven territory management skills / field sales track record
  • Contacts within groundworkers may be beneficial
  • Construction site experience
  • Specific knowledge of trench boxes, manhole boxes, manhole braces, pipe lifter, struts & walers, trench lining and tube shoring products is not essential
  • Empathetic, energetic, driven, passionate and enthusiastic
Remuneration and Benefits

Remuneration: £40,000-£50,000 + £5,000-£10,000 commission

Benefits: Hybrid car or car allowance of £500 per month + full benefits package
