Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a related environmental discipline.
• Demonstrable experience undertaking BS5837 tree surveys and producing technical reports for planning.
• Strong knowledge of tree legislation, planning policy, and industry standards (BS5837:2012).
• Proficiency with mapping or surveying software such as AutoCAD, QGIS, or ArborCAD.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations across the region.

Responsibilities

• Undertake tree surveys and produce BS5837 reports to support planning applications.
• Provide arboricultural advice across multidisciplinary design teams.
• Prepare Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
• Conduct site inspections and oversee tree protection measures during construction.
• Contribute to sustainable design solutions integrating trees and green infrastructure.

Job Overview

• Undertake tree surveys and produce BS5837 reports to support planning applications and development projects
• Provide arboricultural advice and input across multidisciplinary design teams, working closely with ecologists and engineers
• Prepare Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements in line with industry standards
• Conduct site inspections and oversee tree protection measures during construction phases
• Contribute to sustainable design solutions that integrate trees and green infrastructure into developments
• Support the continued growth of the environmental team and mentor junior staff where appropriate
