A local government authority in England is seeking passionate individuals for highway maintenance roles. Positions include Roadworker Level 1 with a salary range of £24,790 - £26,409 and opportunities for apprenticeships. Successful candidates will receive extensive training and contribute to improving local infrastructure. A full driving license is required, and prior experience in construction is preferred but not mandatory.

We are looking applicants interested in joining our Construction Delivery team. Due to further expansion of our works programmes, we have a range of positions available. Dorset Highways carry’s out Dorset Council’s responsibilities as a highway authority for Dorset’s network. The service manages over 2,400 miles of carriageway. We are responsible for everything associated with the highway assets such as bridges & structures, cycleways, footways, drainage, and road signs & markings.
Working hours based on an annual 37 hour working week
07:45 - 15:30 Monday - Friday (Winter) 35 hours
07:45 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 07:45 - 15:30 Friday (Summer) 39 hours
You are a passionate, dedicated individual interested in a career in Highway Construction and Maintenance. You enjoy working outdoors and learning new skills. You care about your local area and want to contribute to making Dorset a better place to live, work and visit.
Ideally you will have practical construction experience at either skilled or supervisory level. However, this is not essential as Dorset Council are committed to developing a fully trained and diverse team.
